The completion of the Pavillion de la Louveciennes for Madame du Barry marks the final evolution of the Louis XVI style which remains linked with the name of the monarch who would not yet ascend the throne for four more years. The du Barry chair illustrates the same straight lines that were employed in the ornamented facades of public buildings at the time.
