The Roman Garden Pedestal Table was inspired by a table seen on one of those cramped, twisting, cobbled Roman streets, where ponderous carriage doors occasionally appear amidst the jumble and noise. As we wandered, lost in one of these labyrinths, we stopped by a slightly open door that offered a glimpse into a grotto-like courtyard. Under a canopy of bougainvillea vines, a table’s impossibly thin, silhouetted top seemed to hover over its balustrade shaped base. How many centuries had this battered old wooden table been there? How many people lingered over meals here? We photographed it and brought its spirit back home with us in our own adaptation. Click here to view all available product finishes.
